Mount Kilimanjaro via Marangu Route

DAY 1 Moshi
Transfer from Namanga/Kilimajaro International airport/your entry point to Moshi. Pre-climbing briefing in your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 Mandara (2700m)
Morning transfer to the Marangu park gate. Ascend to Mandara Hut. 11kms and approximately 4 hours walking. Dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut.
DAY 3 Horombo (3720m)
Leave Mandara in the rain forest before emerging into the alpine zone characterized by giant heather, groundsel and lobelia. 19kms walking in 6hrs.
DAY 4 Kibo (4703m)
Ascend from Horombo into the arctic zone. Overnight at Kibo Hut within sight of the summit. 16kms in 6 hours. Depart soon after midnight for the summit.
DAY 5 Horombo (3720m)
Arrive on the summit to see the sunrise, descend past Kibo to Horombo Hut. 4000 feet to the summit, approximately 5 hours. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.
DAY 6 Moshi
Descend to Mandara and onto the park gate at Marangu. Collect certificate and return to your hotel in Moshi for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7
Depending on the plans for your next destination, arrangements will be made for your transfers prior to your time of departure.
